Global Leaders Convene in Istanbul for GSWY 2025: First Global Summit Advancing the UN Pact for the Future
From April 7–11, 2025, more than 250 delegates from over 60 countries across four continents gathered in Avcılar, Istanbul for a milestone event that marked a turning point in global advocacy. The Global Summit on Sustainable Futures for Women and Youth (GSWY 2025) became the first international gathering to take bold, action-oriented steps toward advancing the United Nations’ Pact for the Future. The summit was co-hosted by the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR) and the Municipality of Avcılar, setting the stage for a vibrant and solution-driven dialogue on sustainable development, equality, and global leadership.

Ukrainians visit Baytown to build relationships
The Ukrainians are in town to gain information about veterans, thanks to Judy DuBose through her business, JAD Associates, taking it back to Ukraine and helping veterans of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. The group will also fly to Washington, D.C., as part of Ukrainian Week and plan to attend the Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast, with some even going to the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast with President Donald Trump in attendance.
USIDHR Gala Brings Diplomats and Advocates to Washington to Foster Global Collaboration
The US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR) hosted the prestigious USIDHR Diplomacy and Human Rights Gala at a Versailles-like private club in Washington, DC, on December 5, 2024. This event brought together distinguished diplomats, government officials, global leaders, and human rights advocates from around the world under the theme: Global Diplomacy, Democracy, and Sustainable Development: A Pathway to Human Rights.

Baytown vet speaks about Ukrainian women in the military
Judy DuBose, a Baytown U.S. Army vet and volunteer and operator of JDA Associates, LLC, attended the II Summit “Partnership and Veterans’ Health” in October, which had more than 70 speakers from Ukraine, the European Union and the United States, including DuBose, who was calling for support of Ukrainian women in the military.
Baytown veteran hoping to help Ukrainian vets
Judy DuBose, a local U.S. Army veteran and volunteer, is hoping to travel to Ukraine in October to meet with officials there about helping veterans coming back from the Ukraine/Russia War transition back into civilian life. She spoke with several dignitaries about going to Ukraine, including Col. Ruslan Bondar, the Head of Section with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. She is pictured with Bondar at the Eurosatory Global Event for Defense and Security Conference in Paris earlier this year.
